Coastal climate resilience research is promoted by AGU TV

Coastal climate resilience, one of the priority research areas of Climate Smart Lab, has been recently promoted by the AGU TV through AGU’s official YouTube channel (in partnership with WebsEdge Science) and AGU’s Annual Meeting held on December 9-13, 2024 in Washington DC. This priority research has received various funding support from NSERC, NFRF, CFI – Innovation Fund, NRCan, ACOA, and Government of PEI.

The research team in Climate Smart Lab is now developing a state-of-the-art coastal hazard monitoring, modeling, and testing system will be developed to support the planning of coastal adaptation measures, evaluation of the effectiveness of different coastal protection measures, and operational and emergency management of flooding events in the context of PEI. A multidisciplinary research team is working together to promote research innovation and technology development towards the monitoring and modeling of coastal and flooding hazards across PEI, as well as the testing of various coastal protection measures (nature-based and engineering-based) to help build its coastal resilience to the changing climatic and oceanic conditions.

The full AGU film for our coastal climate resilience can be viewed below or at YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3k4en6f4YR4.

Here in the Climate Smart Lab, we are a group of people developing sustainable climate solutions with cutting-edge technologies to help build climate-resilient communities. Collectively, we are working together with experts from all disciplines to build a climate-smart future for the next generation and many generations to come.
