Muhammad Umair Ashraf joined the Climate Smart Lab in 2025 as a PhD student in the Canadian Center for Climate Change and Adaptation at University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI). He is an Agricultural Engineer with over six years of field experience in climate-smart agriculture, water management, and sustainable food systems in Pakistan. He has contributed to various donor assisted international projects with the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, and Center for Agriculture and Bioscience International (CABI). His recent work focuses on preparation of GHG emissions measurement methodologies and mitigation strategies, remote sensing, and climate risk adaptation approaches and interventions for farmers.
Here in the Climate Smart Lab, we are a group of people developing sustainable climate solutions with cutting-edge technologies to help build climate-resilient communities. Collectively, we are working together with experts from all disciplines to build a climate-smart future for the next generation and many generations to come.
