Dr. Kınay’s primary research interests are climate change adaptation and its associated impacts on human health. She is also interested in the nature of climates, whether local, regional, or global, as well as the natural and human-caused variables that influence climate change. Dr. Kınay has a solid background looking into the mechanisms that lead to efficient climate adaptation. While her interest in vulnerable populations and climate change and health consequences is developing, she is integrating her research into nature-based solutions (NbS) and climate change adaptation by looking into different regions. In Canada, she as well doing research on climate change adaptation and potential health interactions. Mental health impacts of climate change on the island’s population is one of the subjects she highly focuses on.
