Rana Ali Nawaz joined the Climate Smart Lab as a PhD student in the Canadian Center for Climate Change and Adaptation at University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI). Mr. Nawaz has a rich early career experience working with International Water Management Institute (IWMI), International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA), and Charles Sturt University (CSU) during and after his MSc Engineering (Agriculture). Nawaz’s early career experience with international organizations enabled him to work with multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary teams. His research interests are mainly focused on climate modeling by state-of-the-art GIS, remote sensing, and computer programming skills; analysis of climate change impact on agriculture and water resources systems; big data and hydrological modeling for solving the complex problems of water resources management at different spatial and temporal scales under changing climate.
Here in the Climate Smart Lab, we are a group of people developing sustainable climate solutions with cutting-edge technologies to help build climate-resilient communities. Collectively, we are working together with experts from all disciplines to build a climate-smart future for the next generation and many generations to come.
