In this story, Amy’s Aunt Sarah travels from Alberta to visit her family in Prince Edward Island. During dinner, a breaking news report announces wildfire in Jasper National Park. As the family watches the updates, both Amy’s dad and Aunt Sarah help her understand what wildfires are and why they are becoming more frequent. Aunt Sarah shares her experiences from Alberta, while her dad explains how climate change, rising temperatures, and drought increase wildfire risks. Together, they discuss the impacts on forests, wildlife, and communities, as well as prevention methods and the importance of protecting the environment.
