This book introduces young readers to the challenges of coastal erosion and sea-level rise on Prince Edward Island. Through an engaging and accessible story, students learn why shorelines change, how stronger storms and rising seas accelerate erosion, and what these changes mean for beaches, wildlife habitats, and local communities. The book explains in simple terms how climate change contributes to the weakening of coastal landscapes. It highlights the importance of protecting sand dunes, preserving coastal ecosystems, and respecting natural barriers that help shield communities from storm damage. Young readers are encouraged to see themselves as caretakers of their environment. By understanding the science behind coastal change and learning practical ways to help, they are empowered to protect their shores and support a more sustainable future for their island communities.
